The division of All Interactive Distribution that handles the management and distribution rights of computer game, All Interactive Entertainment (AIE), was the preferred choice of 505 Games for distributing the release of their sim racing game for consoles, throughout Australia and New Zealand.
What is Assetto Corsa Competizione?
Assetto Corsa Competizione (ACC) is a highly realistic simulation racing game of the FIA GT3 homologated championship. The game gives players the opportunity to race on official circuits, drive official cars, and compete against official drivers and their teams.
The game boasts an incredible level of realism and quality. The circuits were recreated using Laserscan technology to ensure supreme accuracy to emulate a true racing experience.
ACC is a game that is targeted at a niche market, as opposed to games where anyone can jump in and drive. The game is best experienced using a steering wheel setup, though controllers can be used.
The game was initially released on PC in 2019, the console release for PS4 and Xbox One were released on the 23rd of June, 2020. AIE were responsible for the distribution and marketing within the ANZ territory to raise awareness of the release, to educate users about the game, and to promote pre-orders and sales post-release.
Distribution
As AIE is a division All Interactive Distribution, AIE are able to leverage the infrastructure and technology of distributing and managing logistics Australia-wide.
In this regard, AIE was able to completely optimize the distribution schedule and align with the product launch date.
AIE distributed ACC to the major Australia and New Zealand gaming retailers, EB Games, JB Hi Fi, The Gamesmen, and Might Ape (NZ) and The Warehouse (NZ). As well as offering copies via Amazon where warehousing and logistics are handled by AID.
Promotional Activity and Results
To align with 505 Games release schedule, AIE offered a marketing campaign specifically targeted at the niche market in order to reach the right consumers.
A dedicated landing page was created with pre-order purchase information and links, as well as integrated media, DLC information, unique selling points and a detailed FAQ section based on consumer feedback/questions.
Facebook organic posts were organised and published on the AIE Facebook page during the pre-order phase to build awareness, and closer to the release date paid Facebook ads and boosted posts were utilized to reach a larger yet targeted audience.
The video collateral supplied by 505 Games was used in the majority of AIE paid posts resulting in over 300K+ views, 300K+ Reach and 45K+ Engagement.
To coincide with the release, we were able to leverage partnerships with the Australian GT championship to have GT drivers publish content about the game. The drivers were selected based on social media followers and activity.
The content was arranged by AIE and sent to the drivers resulting in high engagement among their followers.
